General Eligibility Requirements
Core requirements for international nursing graduates
Educational Requirements
- Graduate of a foreign nursing school
- Nursing program must be equivalent to U.S. nursing education
- Completion of general education and nursing-specific coursework
- Clinical training in medical-surgical, pediatric, psychiatric, and obstetric nursing
Credential Evaluation
- Official transcripts from nursing school
- Credential evaluation by CGFNS or similar agency
- English proficiency test (TOEFL/IELTS/OET)
- Nursing license verification from country of origin
Additional Requirements
- Social Security Number (if available)
- Background check and fingerprinting
- State Board of Nursing application approval
- Authorization to Test (ATT) from Pearson VUE
